Regent's message

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) and Court St. Louis.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is proud to be one of the oldest and largest volunteer organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. The CDA Motto is "Unity and Charity".  Court St. Louis was chartered in October 2006 with 30 members and has grown to 109 members currently.  We are a group of women, some working in professional fields and some retired, who seek to stay active in St. Louis Parish.  We are passionate about our Catholic faith and want to grow in our faith, build friendships with other women, and serve those in need in our parish and our community.  Faith, Friendship, and Service to others.

We meet on the third Wednesday at 7pm in the months of February, March, April, May & June, August, September, October, November and December for a Business meeting in the St. Louis Church Pastoral Center Social Hall.  The evening begins with a social at 6:30pm and the meeting begins at 7:00pm.  If you are interested in joining us for a Business meeting please contact Theresa Enright, Membership Chairperson, at theresaenright@verizon.net   We welcome new members to come to a meeting and see what we are all about.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas was founded in 1903 and currently has over 63,000 members in 1,150 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country, and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, Kenya, and Peru.  Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, its members are united by their faith in Jesus Christ and their devotion to the Church and the Holy See.  The purposes of the organization are to participate in the religious, charitable and educational Apostolates of the Church.  Catholic Daughters of the Americas engages in creative and spiritual programs which provide its members with the opportunity to develop their special God-given talents in a meaningful way to positively influence the welfare of the Church and all people throughout the world.

The Circle of Love is the Heart of Catholic Daughters.  It is a Seven Point program promoting the ideals of Unity and Charity.  The Seven Points indicate the needs of the Church and community best served by the Catholic Daughters, i.e. Spiritual Enhancement,  Quality of Life, Leadership, Education, Legislation, Family, and Youth.  These are the areas we as Court St. Louis focus our efforts.

In addition to the work done on the local level by CDA Courts through the Circle of Love, Catholic Daughters of the Americas supports five Special National Charitable Projects:  Habitat for Humanity, Holy Cross Ministries, The Laboure` Society, National Center on Sexual Exploitation, and SOAR (Supporting Our Aging Religious).  In addition, there are ten National Charities that are endorsed by National CDA for our support as each local court chooses:  North American College, Apostleship of the Sea, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Catholic Extension, Catholic Relief Services, Covenant House, The Disaster Relief Fund, Mother Teresa, Smile Train, and Tutwiler Clinic.

As you can see the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is a very active group working to help those in need and serve their Church.  Please consider joining us to increase your spirituality on your faith journey, meet new friends, and serve others!
